Since his remarkable debut, Luke Littler – now a World Darts Champion – has ignited a passion for darts among a new generation of players. His inspiring journey has transformed him into a household name and a role model for aspiring players across the globe, resulting in a dartboard being sold every 90 seconds at Darts Corner during the recent world championships. The teenager first captured the public's attention during his 2023/24 PDC World Darts Championship, where he finished as runner-up to Luke Humphries. His story caused a surge in interest, doubling the number of young players picking up darts for the first time. Fast forward to today, and Littler's list of accomplishments is nothing short of extraordinary. From claiming the World Championship title to being named BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year, appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, and earning constant praise in the media, ‘The Nuke’ has cemented his legacy in the world of darts. Littler's success is a powerful reminder that age, background, and circumstances are no barriers to achievement. It shows that anything is possible with hard work, determination, and passion. Inspired by his journey, we at Darts Corner want to ensure that every aspiring player has access to the tools they need to pursue their dreams. Giving Back to Build the Future To celebrate Luke Littler's incredible rise and to help the next generation of talent, we are proud to launch a new initiative. Over the next six months, we're committed to gifting 180 dartboards and 180 sets of darts to individuals and organisations in need, totalling over £10,000 in retail value. Our Managing Director, Craig Heenighan, explains why he is keen to increase the number of players getting into darts, by giving away 180 pieces of kit: "Darts is deeply rooted in working-class culture, and although we are amazed to see it move into the mainstream, we want everyone to have the chance to pick up the arrows – and equipment shouldn't be a barrier. The beauty of darts is that anyone can compete – regardless of who they are. By providing free kit, we hope to see a whole generation of Luke Littlers." Heenighan goes onto explain the thought process around the number of products the retailer will be giving away: “In a game of darts, 180 is the maximum score a player can achieve for a single visit to the board, so it felt right to tie the giveaway back to the game.”
